Dr. Cohen’s Research
Dr. Cohen encountered the “problem of obesity” while conducting his research on infertility. His research isolated the hormones involved in obesity and weight loss, which led him to the conclusion that obesity is a “disease,” a medical condition arising out of a hormonal imbalance. He concluded that obesity or being overweight has nothing to do with a lack of self-discipline, but is a metabolic problem.
The Hormones Involved
Dr. Cohen discovered that maintaining a healthy body weight can be achieved through the delicate balance of three main hormones: insulin, serotonin, and the human growth hormone. Research showed that metabolic problems were caused by the imbalance of these three hormones.
The Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is the hormone responsible for stimulating growth, cell reproduction, and regeneration of cells. Its main functions include fixing and repairing cells in the body and the slowing down of the ageing process. More importantly, it burns fat in the body by breaking it down rapidly to make it a source of energy.
Serotonin is the hormone released in the brain to tell the body when it is full or satisfied. It is also known as the “feel good” or “happy hormone.”
Insulin is the hormone that regulates blood-glucose levels and is responsible for moving sugar from the blood into the cells where it is used as energy. It also controls hunger pangs and cravings.
Using food to address the hormonal imbalance is the safest and most natural way to lose weight*. Dr. Cohen only “prescribes” foods tested to allow the body to do what it is naturally designed to do which is to burn fat! There is no need for costly (and possibly unsafe options) like pills, formulated drinks, machines, and injections.
